THANKSGIVING & AUTISM

Hello Friends! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Day! We had a very relaxing family day. It was just the four of us but it was very nice. We cook the traditional dinner, Claudia and Mikey helped set the table, we played games and just spend quality time...my kind of get together ;)
The most important thing was that we were together and that we are healthy. Health is a big blessing in my opinion, without good health a lot of things are impossible. I thank God everyday that I have been blessed with healthy children and this brings me to the Autism part of my post title..... I have mentioned before that I love to run, it is my other hobby. What I haven't mentioned is that I have a nephew and a dear friend's son who suffer from Autism. I love helping others any way I can so I have taken my running passion to a higher level. I made a fundraising page with OAR (Organization Autism Research) where you can sponsor me to help me help Autism Research. I know nowadays money is tight for must of us so if you cannot support me by donating you can help me by posting my link on your blogs. The more people that get the link to my fundraising page the more chances to get sponsors. I am running the Miami ING Tropical 5K in January. This is the first time I do fundraising so if you have any tips on howto better promote my page let me know. If you look on the top right hand side of my blog you will see a widget to my page. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this long post. I really appreciate it.
Now I like to share some photos of our Thanksgiving "feast"

Here are Claudia and Mikey getting ready to eat.

Here is the delicious turkey, I used a spanish adobo to season it and it was YUM! Claudia enjoying a turkey leg :) Here are the loves of my life!

Here is Mikey been silly!
I hope you enjoyed the pictures! Thank you for stopping by...have a great week! I will be back with some projects.

A Template and a Card!

Hi Friends! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a busy weekend, packing boxes of gifts for family and friends all over the world LOL! We are a military family so when the holidays come I have to mail the gifts because we are never near any family.
Anyway this is a quick post as I have to go finish 2 bithday cards I need for wednesday. November is a busy B-Day month for me;,almost all of my good friends have their B-days, and Mike (Hubby) too.
To the project...here I am sharing a little project I made with one of Lauren Meader templates. I am having soo much fun with this templates, they are right up my alley:Quick, Easy Inespensive, Fun and super Cute. If you haven't try them you have to...no excuse as she has some free ones you can download to try. The one I used for this project is one of the free ones called Stocking Stuffer. I didn't have time to fill it for the pic as I need to go buy the gift but it will be filled with Bath & Body small Shower gel, body lotion and lip gloss and it is going to my sweet Niece who just turned 3.

I made the card to match. Excuse my messy craft table. The stamp is from Pink Cat Studio (Dress up Lily) I colored it with my Copic Markers and used some stickles on the winds and hat. My hubby game me 2 sets of Copic Markers for my B-Day back in May (when I was MIA LOL) and I love my Copics so much that I don't use my Prisma color pencils much anymore. Here are two more pictures of the card and Stoking:

I am closing for now so I can work on some fun cards and templates to share later on the week. I wish you all a smooth Thanksgiving dinner shopping (I am doing that tonight) and a very Happy Thanksgiving to all. God Bless you and your family always and thank you for stopping by to see my stuff ;)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Hi Everyone! I am back! It's been too long. I took a very long break (not by choice) let's just blame it on the kids LOL! No seriously somehow, somewhere I lost the ability to make time to blog. I tend to get so involved with my kids and hubby that sometimes I forget old me, and it is not good because stamping keeps me sane. I have been browsing your blogs and enjoying your creations all this time. It was very strange but the longer I took to blog the harder it became...does it make sense? I became afraid of visiting my blog because I knew I was going to feel awful to see how long is been since I did what I enjoy. So I will attempt to blog at least once a week. All this time I haven't blog I have made some projects just didn't take pictures or post...tooo busy or tooo lazy. I have also been training to run the Miami ING. I am running for Autism....I have a nephew that has autism and a dear friends son that also has autism.... so I decided to used my other hobby (running) to fundraise for this cause, and that is where some of my very little time has also gone into training for this races. More on this later.
Anyway let's talk crafts...HAVE you girls try Lauren Meader's templates???? If you haven't you HAVE to! They are awesome and so easy to use and they are only $5 and you get to use them over and over and over again! I have all 3 that have been realeased and I am sooo looking forward to see what she has coming! Go to http://papertreyink.com/ and try the free template she has there, it is very cute and easy. I used the keepsake box to make some Halloween candy boxes for Claudia's teachers and I love how they turned out. They were so easy and fun to make. I plan on making some for Christmas to give ornaments to friends and teachers. I love containers and I am not good at making my own so these are a life saver for me and they are easy and fun. Claudia (my 6 year old) helped me decorate them and she fell in love with them. Here are 2 more I made same color different stickers.
The pictures are not excellent as I am out of practice and need to learn more but you get the idea ;)
I used K&Co cut outs to decorate them. I found them at Michaels a whole baggie of them FULL with all kinds of fun Halloween cut outs. I also made Halloween cards for Claudia's friends and goodie baggies here is a small sample of the cards and baggies as they were LOTS!
Well this all for now I have more to show you later this week....another of Lauren's Templates so stay tuned.

Have a safe Happy Halloween and a wonderful weekend! and thank you for stopping by.

Nancy

Spring Penguin

Happy Saturday! I hope you guys are enjoying Spring Break. The weather here in Miami is been in the cool side (a good thing) so we have been busy outdoors. I haven't post forever, we have been enjoying the pool, cooking out and riding bikes and I have been running and running and running some more ;)
Claudia was very excited to read your comments on her card and she says: "Thank you" (insert blushed face and giggles). She is a sweetie.

Here is a easy card I made the other day. I love the spring colors and the cute little penguin. The stamp is from Designs unlimited, I bought it at a local stampin convention a while back. Mr. Penguin was stamped on WW (SU) colored with my prisma colors and gamsol. The card is Bazzill CS (can't remember the color) and I layered it with some really happy PP from Junkitz called Salsa. I cut a rectangle of Yoyo Yellow and did some Faux Stitching on it connecting the holes with my Uni-ball Signo Gel Pen. I then layered my Penguin on some Going Grey that was scalloped with my circle punch and layerd that on Pumpin Pie CS (SU), I used the photo corner punch on Tempting Turquoise to create the cool corners that I adorned with my Uni-Ball pen. I finished it up with some Making Memories primary colors brads and an epoxy flower also from MM. As always I had a lot of fun making this one. Mary I hope Spring is going your way LOL! You have to go check Mary's website she has some AWESOME, I mean AWESOME cards. Mary, I love the Sweet Tart card you made. I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend and for those of you up north I hope Spring is on it's way. Thank you for stopping by.

Cards and Pictures

Hi Everyone! This is a long post since I haven't been able to post daily. I Hope everyone is doing great. Here is a card I made with the super cool sell-a-bration set So Many Scallops. It was really fun to work with this set since all I had to do was peel off the stamps and assemble them on the wood block...I like that since my "play time" is so limited. The sentiment on the stamp says: "so sweet of you". I inked the flower with chocolate chip ink and stamped it on very vanilla CS, then I hand cut it and layered on a soft sky flower made with the scallop circle, then this was layered on a flower punched with a McGill punch. the paper used was Su: Soft Sky, very vanilla and chocolate chip. The PP IS Foof-a-La Savannah collection. The brads are from Making Memories.

Here is my Baby Girl Claudia she is 5 and she loves making cards with me. Yesterday we had a B-BBQ and for desert we made some VERY green cupcakes to celebrate ST Patrick's. Scroll down and check out Mikey's picture he wasn't as dainty as Claudia LOL! Claudia asked me to post a card that she made so she could share with you guys. (She enjoys reading with me the comments I get on my posts, so she wanted to get comments too). Here is her card: She used Whipper Snapper Spring Shower Duck (which she loves) She colored her image with Sharpies. She used SU Pink Passion and Green Galore paper, and made a scallop border with some PP she has on her craft caddy. She did everything by herself and here is her pretty card!
This little men (scroll down) is Mikey and he LOVES cupcakes, so I couldn't resist to take a messy picture of him enjoying his very green cupcake. He is 2 and loves running in our craft room when Claudia and I are making cards and grabbing whatever we are using at the moment, tape, ribbon paper etc and running out as fast as he can. He giggles when Claudia and I chased him to get our tools back. This is why it takes me so long to finish my projects, because half of the time I am chasing this little guy.
I hope you guys have a fun ST Patrick's Day. Tomorrow I will share the little Easter cards I made for Claudia's class.
Thank you for stoping by and have a wonderful week!
Hugs,
Nancy

Dusting my Blog

Dusting my blog here LOL. Hope everyone is doing great! I am doing fine, just haven't have time to create anything for the last couple of weeks. I had a lot going on, but things are starting to slow down so I will be able to play in my craft room again YAY! Here is a quick easy card I whipped this morning. There is not much stamping except for the sentiment. The flowers were created with the SU punch (spring bouquet flower). The paper used is SU Spring Showers (retired) and CS is bashful blue. The sentiment is curvy verses also SU. I layered different color flowers and attach them with some Making Memories flower brads. Avery simple card and my baby boy helped me punch the flowers which was great because it kept him happy long enough for me to create something. I am the "crafty" mom at my daughters class so I was given the job to create favors etc for the different occasions. I started working on some Easter favors for the kids I should finish those soon so I can work on my own projects. I love making things for the kids they get so excited. I have so many alterable containers in my craft room's closet, so many ideas and plans and so little time. I need to come up with some sort of schedule that will allow me to stamp more. Well this is all for now back to cleaning my craft room so I can sell some old stuff that is taking space so I can buy some new stuff ;D

I am so ready for Spring. I love Easter. Here is a picture of one of the many Easter decoration created by Germans in the town of Wieden (Bavaria). All these eggs are real eggs and they were hand painted. Each egg is different and have flowers or bunnies etc. The picture doesn't show all the beautiful details. They have these Easter festivals in almost every town. They also sell the hand painted eggs for a Euro. A very fun way to spend the day driving from town to town to see the different displays. Have a great Day! Thank you for stopping by.
Hugs,
Nancy

Totally Cool

Where did my weekend go? I didn't stamp much this weekend but I did finish this card. This is an SU set called Totally Cool. I had the cool girl colored and ready to be mounted. I've had this stamp for awhile now and this is the first time I ink it (pretty bad ah?) I know...I have some sets that I haven't even mounted yet. I am in the process of "cleaning" (selling stamps I don't use) my craft room so I can make room for new stuff. Do you guys go through the same thing? I have some stamp sets that I have no idea why I bought them so they have to go. Wow! I looked at the new SU catty and they have some really nice stuff, I REALLY, REALLY need to win the lottery ;)
Ok to the card so I can get to bed. Cool girl was colored with prismas and gamsol was used to blend. I used my sakura gel glitter pen to trace the beads on her pants, purse and sun glasses. I am not sure if you can see that on the picture, but in real life it looks really sparkly. Check out the little rhinestone on the gift and on the center of the flowers of the patterned paper. Su card stock used was Handsome Hunter, Summer Sun, Pixie Pink, Pumpkin Pie and for the photo corners I used Soft Sky. The PP is from Junkitz, it is called Salsa and I love the colors. I did some paper piercing and finished it up with 3 square brads from the Paper Studio. Thank you for stopping by and have a great week!

Hugs,
Nancy
